What is a PPG?

PPGs (Patient Participation Groups) are an excellent way for patients of a practice to have their say, and share their opinions, on many aspects of the surgery. Healthwatch Milton Keynes hosts four PPG events each year, giving those with an interest in Primary Care the opportunity to share their experiences and learn about new initiatives in local and national healthcare.

Healthwatch Milton Keynes has made contact with over 400 people through holding PPG events, many of whom are now Healthwatch members. The events are a chance for representatives from local PPGs to get together and share ideas. Events feature informative talks on many aspects of health and social care, including recent innovations, pilot schemes and advice for patients on receiving the best care.

Contact your local GP surgery for information on your local PPG. If you would like advice or support on setting up or maintaining a PPG, please contact us or come along to one of our network meetings.
