CQC report - The state of care in mental health services
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published findings from its programme of comprehensive inspections of specialist mental health services in a report: The state of care in mental health services.
The report highlights many examples of good and outstanding care – but also too much poor care, and far too much variation in quality and access across different services.
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. It assesses services on whether they provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care.
