Gestational diabetes: what you need to know

You might have heard of other types of diabetes, like type 1 and type 2. Gestational diabetes is
diabetes that develops during pregnancy. It’s usually diagnosed from a blood test 24 to 28 weeks into pregnancy that shows high blood sugar levels. For most women, gestational diabetes goes    away after birth, but there is a risk that you could develop type 2 diabetes.
