About this event
It's vital that people from different ethnicities, genders and ages can get involved in medical research, so that future treatments, medications, diagnosis and prevention can reflect EVERYONE'S needs.
Health and care research happens all the time everywhere.
In the NHS a research example is:
Finding out better ways of helping a child if they break their leg.
In our daily lives a research example is:
Finding out better ways to stop people getting heart disease.
Across the world a research example is:
Developing a vaccine.
At the moment, there are research studies happening in Milton Keynes around Type 2 diabetes. This may be an area you'd like to get involved in. We'll be joined by Oliver Myton, Consultant in Public Health, Milton Keynes City Council. He heads up the diabetes ACTIVATE study.
