Campaign for cancer prosthetics for ethnic minorities
Cancer Education UK today launch their campaign for the NHS to increase funding for breast and other prosthetics following cancer treatment, in a range of skin tones.
Currently, cancer patients from ethnic minorities are not offered prostheses in a range of skin tone colours. There is only one 'generic flesh tone'.
We reported on this health inequality back in August 2019, as part of our long term plan. [page 53, 'Jo's story'.]
Cancer Education UK picked up on our findings, and are taking this issue to a national level with a petition that will hopefully achieve change.
