Our 2025-26 resident's survey: what you told us

Our annual survey helps us to better understand the health and care issues that are affecting the lives of people in MK.
Your voice is essential when it comes to making an impact in the areas that matter, and we're now busy planning our activities for 2025-6. We will be sharing our plans over the coming weeks.
Here's a snapshot of what you told us:
- 53% of people who took part rated health and care services in MK as 'fair'.
- 30% of people rated services as 'poor'.
According to your feedback, these are the top three issues for residents right now:
- Access to primary care services - GPs, dentists, pharmacies - 83%
- Emergency services including ambulance services, A&E and urgent care - 45%
- Social care and adult mental health services - joint third on 44%
Who took part?
- 62% of people had a long term health condition.
- 22% said they had a disability.
- 16% said they were a carer.
- 73% identified as female, 27% were male, nobody identified as non-binary/other/prefer not to say.

What you told us: suggestions for initiatives or programmes that we should consider for 2025-6?
"Raise awareness of disease prevention e.g. Pre Diabetes"
"What about asking people with multiple chronic conditions about their experiences?"

More training and understanding of how scared and frightened people are that have a learning disability and more mental health nurses on hospital wards.
What you told us: what are the most significant challenges or gaps in health and care services in our community?
"Severe lack of access to social care support."
"Waiting times including for the ambulance, referral length of waiting."
"Lack of NHS dentists - my teeth are in a very poor state but I cannot get NHS treatment despite being on Pension Credit.".
"Primary care: the inability to see or speak to your GP within 48 hours."
"Lack of carers"
"No holistic flow through per person. You are put on a health pathway and that pathway only deals with that issue. I am currently under four different pathways - none of whom inform each other of anything."
